Kayla Kuehl ’24, from Fargo, N.D., says receiving scholarships lifted a financial burden and encouraged her to pursue her passion. As a former pediatric patient, she aspires to be a pediatric nurse. She’s also highly involved on campus in NDSU Cru, Nurses Christian Fellowship, and Bison Ambassadors.
“The best part about being a Bison is that we’re a strong community,” Kayla said. “We always find ways to uplift each other.”
Riley Spoden ’26, from St. Cloud, Minnesota, is a vocal music education major and recipient of a Challey Family Music scholarship. He sings in the NDSU Concert Choir, takes piano and vocal lessons, and plays percussion in the NDSU University Band — all while balancing an off-campus job. Thanks to his scholarship, he’s able to save some of the money he earns to put toward the Concert Choir overseas tour.
“It’s going to be an experience I’ll never forget, making music with local choirs and people from different countries,” Riley said. “Scholarships allow me to support myself and have that experience without worrying about my tuition.”
